Utility Service Information
The City of Meadville is happy to provide customers with Water, Wastewater, Electrical, and Trash services.
Customers may pay for utilities by placing their payment in one of the drop-boxes located at the bank,
or deliver them to Kara Roberts, City Clerk during business hours at City Hall or appointments can be made to meet after hours in Meadville at city hall by calling Kara at 660.938.4999.

Security Deposits are required at the time of application. Deposit amount is $150 for electric services & $150 for water services. The deposit can be paid in two equal installments, 1/2 due at agreement signing/connection and the remainder due within 30 days.

Electric
Rates are calculated based on the following:
Base Electric Charge - $9.94 Charge for usage <= 15kw
Electric Rate Level 1- $0.2167 Rate charge per kw between 16 and 100 kw
Electric Rate Level 2 - $0.1432 Rate charge per kw between 101 and 300 kw
Electric Rate Level 3 - $0.1218 Rate charge per kw between 301 and 600 kw
Electric Rate Level 4 - $0.0988 Rate charge per kw between 601 and 1000 kw
Electric Rate Level 5 - $0.0824 Rate charge per kw greater than 1000 kw
Effective with April, 2016 usage on the May billing, rates will be based on the following:

The homeowner is responsible for service requests and maintenance from the electric meter to the home or structure. The city maintains the line to the meter.

There is an availability fee of $33.11 for all water meters.
Water is $4.44/1,000 gallons - any usage under 1,000 gallons is pro-rated.

WASTEWATER
There is an availability fee of $25 for each connection.
Wastewater is $2/1,000 gallons of water billed during the month.
Per city policy, there is not an allowance for water that does not go into the sewer, ie. water used to fill pools, water gardens, etc.

Trash needs to be set out before 6:00 am. Bulk pick-up will be the 1st week of each month. For appliance pickup or for questions about what can be included in your bulk, please contact GFL at 660.707.8000.
There is a city brush pile located west of town near the lagoon. This pile is for lawn waste ONLY. Do not dump household items or trash at the brush pile please.

All utility payments are due by the 10th of the month. If unpaid after the 10th day of the month, a 10% charge will be added. If unpaid by the 25th day of the month, at 12:00 noon, the utilities will be terminated.
When the 10th or the 25th fall on a weekend or holiday, then payment must be in the drop-box by 8 am the next business day.
There is a set rate of $100.00 to reconnect the utility meters once they have been shut off.
